بیماری آلودگی حیوانات خانگی و محیط زندگی آنها به کک بسیار شایع است . کک ها عامل ایجاد و انتقال بسیاری از بیماریها در انسان و حیوانات خانگی هستند . گونه ای از کک که در این رابطه بیشترین نقش را دارد ، کتنوسفالیدس فلبس فليس " ( کک شایع گریه ها ) نام دارد . در سگها و گربه ها به ترتیب بیش از ۹۲ و ۹۹ درصد از کک های یافت شده ، از این گونه هستند.
